Become an approved study centre
Enhance your profile: deliver IOSH professional qualifications
Work with us to deliver high-quality professional qualifications by becoming an approved study centre with IOSH. We’re the only chartered body in the world for occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals.
Why now?
With heightened interest in workplace health and safety, employers and recruiters have a growing expectation that job applicants should hold professional qualifications from IOSH.
IOSH qualifications indicate excellence and professionalism in OSH – for new and aspiring professionals or those seeking advancement to the next stage of their career. They provide a route to join IOSH at Technical (TechIOSH) or Certified (CertIOSH) membership grades.
Enhancing your profile
Whether you’re a training provider, higher education institution or an employer with a learning and development team, adding an IOSH qualification to your portfolio is an excellent business proposition.
You’ll be able to:
- broaden your curriculum offer
- tap into an attractive market
- increase your revenue stream
- develop your business
- invest in your staff.
Partnering with IOSH
When you become an IOSH-approved study centre, you’ll receive:
- access to IOSH digital learning resources, including our online continuing professional development (CPD) tool Blueprint
- access to a range of marketing materials, including a listing on our website
- dedicated delivery support from our expert quality assurance team
- use of the IOSH branding in promotional materials.
The approval process
The approval process assesses a study centre’s capability and capacity to deliver an IOSH professional qualification to the standards required for Ofqual-regulated qualifications. It is a rigorous and robust process that protects the integrity of the qualifications. Only approved study centres are authorised to teach IOSH qualifications.
The IOSH Awarding Organisation will give you dedicated support to guide you through all stages of the approval process.
Our qualifications
We have designed our qualifications as an integral part of an OSH professional’s career progression. They are available at two levels:
- IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Principles and Practice (offering a route to Technical membership of IOSH)
- IOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Leadership and Management (offering a route to Certified membership of IOSH).
Both qualifications provide structured learning and formal recognition of skills and knowledge in key areas of OSH. They directly relate to IOSH’s competency framework, on which membership grades are based.
What your learners gain
Professional development
Your learners develop and apply a broad range of competencies to implement and lead effective health, safety and wellbeing cultures and practices in the workplace.
Transferable skills
Your learners develop a mix of technical, soft and business skills directly linked to the IOSH competency framework. These are valuable and transferable, equipping them for career progression.
Career advancement
Completion of IOSH qualifications gives your learners a clear pathway for career enhancement as OSH professionals. They become eligible for Technical membership of IOSH (TechIOSH) or Certified membership of IOSH (CertIOSH).
Global recognition
Because the IOSH qualification you are delivering is Ofqual-regulated, your learners can be confident of an internationally recognised assurance of quality.
Resources and support
Because your learners become IOSH student members before enrolling on your course, they will have immediate access our breadth of tools and knowledge, including Blueprint, our online CPD tool.
Institute of Leadership endorsement
The IOSH Diploma is an accredited leadership development programme. Successful completion allows your learners to apply for discounted membership of The Institute of Leadership.
