Type

Webinar

Summary

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has realigned its guidance for the education sector. This includes specific guidance for young people, apprentices, those on work-experience, those providing training, and employers generally, under the banner of 'vulnerable workers'.

This guidance reaffirms HSE's approach to reducing bureaucracy through simplification and linking of common themes. For example, the assessment of risk and completion of documentation.

This webinar aims to establish a clear understanding of responsibilities and will look at:

  • understanding the limitations of competence
  • the need for clear management of safe working arrangements and the clear distinction between the employer’s responsibility for the safety of the learner
  • evaluating the importance of checks and records for safety arrangements at the employer’s workplace.

You'll learn about simple, workable approaches to reduce the burden of health and safety arrangements while securing higher standards and quality learning experiences.

The speaker is Tudor Williams, director of DTD Training.
